Forum to inspire women entrepreneurs

MORE than 200 participants attended the AsiaInc Forum's on Women in Business with its theme: Empowering Women, Empowering Society, yesterday.
Two sessions were held during the forum, the first of which discussed issues affecting women in the professional world and their experiences on how to manage work-life balance.
The second session featured foreign and local women entrepreneurs who shared their experiences and the best practices they adopted for their growing businesses.
One of the speakers, Dato Dr Jannie Tay, in her keynote address, touched on the need for support from other women as well as being able to share knowledge with family, friends and employees.
Women should be able to learn and gain more knowledge in the work place, she said adding that asking questions to improve oneself was not a loss for anyone.
Founder of Zen Zest Lifestyle products, Michelle Dula Asence, the top 70 admired entrepreneurs in the Philippines, was invited to be a feature speaker.
In her talk she stated that there were ample opportunities for women to advance in business.
At the event eight women were awarded for their hard work and dedication as well as being the "first woman" in their respective fields.
Presenting the awards was Her Royal Highness Princess Masna, the ambassador at large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The event took place yesterday at the Empire Hotel and Country Club. (AIS1)
